Gilded Cage opera
In the early 1770s, Susanna Wheatley is hosting a party at her home in Boston and introduces Phillis, the slave she bought and brought up like a daughter, who is autographing her new book of poems. Afterwards, she meets John Peters, a businessman and former slave.
